Langley Memorial Hospital Physician Association welcomes to join them for an important discussion focussed on Pediatric Eating Disorder. The invitation is being extended to all Emergency Physicians, Pediatricians, and Division of Family Practice in Fraser Health Authority.

  • To describe the “Shadow Eating Disorder Pandemic”:
  • To be able to explain the DSMV criteria for 3 common restrictive Eating Disorder presentations:
  • Anorexia Nervosa (restrictive/binge-purge)
  • OSFED (eg. Atypical AN)
  • ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
  • To describe presentations suggesting a possible underlying eating disorder
  • To describe principles & clinical pearls for community management of Pediatric Eating Disorders
  • To describe basic principles of:
  • FBT care
  • Refeeding
  • Weight restoration: strategies & challenges
  • To be able to describe effective communication strategies with patients, families & colleagues in caring for this population
  • To be able to identify the logistical considerations important in care planning for this patient population in the community
  • To locate and apply helpful tools & resources to assist in caring for this population
